Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication refers to a system that authenticates users with an additional factor in addition to their ID and password when logging in to various services. Multi-factor authentication is also used when using the Meiji Gakuin University’s online services.
Authentication is required when logging in from off-campus networks. (Authentication is valid for 90 days)
Please take action as soon as possible since it is necessary to set up the system by yourself in advance.

● When accessing MG Mail,

 ①Enter your MG Mail address and password.
 ②You will be asked to “authorize” on your phone.
 ③Approve with your phone.

● Once “authenticated,” you can access MG Mail.

How to Check “Security Info”

  • Access the “Security Info” section of your MAIN account to see which devices are registered.

Setting Example

  • By default, authentication by application is given top priority.
    If you set up authentication by application on more than one phone, they will be sent at the same time.(exsample: Set up on the phone and iPad)
  • We recommend setting up the system on multiple devices in case of model change or loss. (exsample: Smartphone and landline)
    • Multiple units can be registered for the application. (exsample: Smartphone and landline)
    • Up to 3 phones can be registered (1 with text (SMS), 2 with voice only)

Reset (initialize) multi-factor authentication

  • If the above procedure does not resolve the problem, it is necessary to reset (initialize) the system at the Information Technology Center.
  • After the reset is complete, please set up multi-factor authentication from the beginning.

How to apply for reset.

  • Since identification is required, this will be done in person at the Information Technology Center.
    *Applications cannot be submitted by any other means (telephone, e-mail, etc.).
  • Procedures by phone from distant locations (special exception)
    1. In advance, register the “passphrase” with the Information Center using the form at the URL below.
    2. Call the Information Technology center.( Shirokane / Yokohama
      • The “passphrase” will be verified (identity verification) and a request for reset will be made.
